INTRODUCTION
We a group of young & energetic people met in an
annual function at “KOLHAPUR JILLA UTKARSH SEVA MANDAL, BADLAPUR”. On meeting and interaction between each other, some young people, who had an urge to serve the society, help the poor, old & deprived people in our society joined hands. Our Interaction and thought process urged us in founding an NGO. We started working on our thought and, then “UMED SEVA FOUNDATION” (NGO) came into existence.
Initially, we all members of Umed, contributed from our own pocket to lend a helping hand to the poor & old people. But all our efforts financially are to a limited scope, since we all members belong to a middle class family, working for some or other organization.
We expect a small help from our Fellow Countryman, in some or the other way, so that we can help the poor & needy people in our society to the best possible way.
A small help from our Fellow Countryman, will encourage us tremendously, and gear up in our efforts to serve the poor & needy to our extreme extent.
Lastly and most importantly, for our country to progress & prosper in real sense it will only be possible, if the deprived & poor of the society, gets a better life & environment for living. The rural people of the society improve their living standards, and leave behind their backwardness. All this is possible, only if the financially strong society, helps the poor & deprived class of the society.
Objectives of the UmedSeva Foundation (NGO)
• To promote Educational, Social,Cultural, Economical and Medicalrelief to poor and downtrodden and advancement of any other charitable and developmental objects of general public utility and community welfare.
• To promote literacy activities of adults and children.
• To organize continuing education, career guidance or counseling,to improve standards of living of rural and urban people.
• To provide guidance to the farmers in the field of agriculture in the rural areas.
• To establish libraries, conduct Literary, Cultural, Educational and other programs.
Videos and Dramas and such other means of activities for the village people in promoting communal harmony and moral and spiritual values.
• To promote the integrated computer education in the rural area.
• To promote women welfare activities.
• To take care of historical assets of the country.
• To organize schools for mentally and physically challenged children in rural areas.
• To distribute rice / food to thepoor on special occasions and also to provide relief during natural calamities to the rural people.
• To organize, Allopathic, Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Naturopathic (and other medical Systems) public Health centers or free clinics, rehabilitation centers by adopting villages for the purpose and work in conjunction with any other institution with similar objective.
• To organize temporary Health Camps like Dental, Eye, AIDS awareness camps, Mobile Surgical, Blood Donation or such similar things aimed at betterment of Health, Diagnosis and prevention of diseases of the rural people using Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Allopathic, Naturopathic and other systems of medicines and work in conjunction with any other institution with similar objective.
• To promote awareness of family welfare schemes and children welfare schemes among rural people.
• To provide free veterinary medical services to livestock of the poor.
• To encourage and support rural sports in the villages for the overall development of the rural people.
• To take up activities like providing shelters to the poor, taking up of irrigation projects, Roads, Sanitation facilities, Drinking water facilities etc., in order to improve the living conditions of the Rural Population.
• To organize old age homes, orphanages etc., in rural areas.
• To organize clean and green programs to promote the concept of environmental protection.
• To recognize significant efforts of scholars in literary work.
• To do all such lawful things incidental or tributary to the attainment of the above objectives and generally do or perform all such acts and deeds or things, which are of general public utility by not involving any activity of profits.
